Anatomy of the head

Cross section  of the head- Sagittal plane

Layers from out side to within

Hair
Scalp
Periosteum - Outer Layer of the sheath of the skull bone
Skull Bone - External Cortex, Marrow, Internal Cortex
Endosteum - Inner Layer of the Sheath of the skull bone
Dura Mater - Outermost layer of the protective sheath of the brain
Arachnoid Matter - Middle, highly vascular protective layer of the brain
Sub-arachnoid space - Contains Cerebrospinal fluid in which the brain floats (like the amniotic fluid in the pregnant uterus in which the baby floats)
Pia-mater - Third layer of the protective sheath of the brain.
Brain - Cortical layer, Medullary layer, Ventricullar sheath, Ventricles etc
